This beautiful Victorian home was completed in 1891, as the home of the S.K. Paige family. Mr. Paige and Mr. Fredrick Gates, one of the founders of Harriman had a contest to create the most elaborate home. Although Mr. Gates won the contest, his house was later dismantled, leaving Bushrod Hall as a testimony to its time. Its massive oak staircase, imported from Sweden during construction of the house and the exquisite wood detailing (at least eight different decorate woods are used in the detailing) make this house a delight to visit.
